| Name: Rachel Tala Black Age/Birthday: 21 // March 21 1985 Family: Parents: Sarah (deceased) and Billy. Sister: Rachel has a twin sister Rebecca and a younger brother Jacob When it comes to her family, Rebecca is slightly distant but she loves them deeply. When her mother died she took it pretty hard hiding in her own world. She's protective of her younger brother, and very protective of her father. Rebecca felt bad when she and her sister left for college, leaving her father and brother alone. However she got over it as she found college to be really enjoyable and comfortable. |

| Rachel can go from being the life of the party to the girl in the background. She knows how to have fun, but she also knows how to stay calm and follow her path. She's always been a very curious girl wanting to know just about everything possible. She always worries about other people before herself. It's something about taking care of everyone that seemed really important to her. Rachel cares a lot about everyone but she often will lock herself away to avoid the pain of whatever the situation is. She makes quick choices and sometimes doesn't fully think them through. She's strong and very direct in her relationships with people she doesn't always know how to express herself with out just saying what is on her mind. She's got a lot of energy and always loves to try new things. She found sports to calm her down when she was younger and continues to keep in good shape purely because working out is a great way to deal with too much energy. Rachel can get irritated pretty easily which is why she's only had one long relationship. She adored her one long term boyfriend but got sick of his childish ways. Rachel grew up fast she's very responsible and gets everything done at once she doesn't sit around and wait for things as she doesn't see the point in just sitting around. She loves to be busy and projects. She's really good with deadlines and often gets things in early for her classes. One of her true passions is writing. Rachel loves the creativity and the spontaneity of writing. An idea can come from no where and the ability to craft a story is a remarkable feeling. She often uses her writing to express her fears and true feelings instead of showing them on her face. Rachel loves extremes she doesn't like the in between crap that often makes her feel stuck. She just can't stand feeling locked in. It was part of the reason she so badly wanted to go to a larger school, but at the same time it is the reason she decided to go back home for the summer. She felt like she was loosing part of herself, her past is important to her. She can't loose what that does for her. The spirits of her ancestors are important to her. She feels like an idiot for saying it, but at times she can feel their guidance within her. |

| Born a few weeks early, Rachel was the first out. Her 'little' sister Rebecca came just an hour after Rachel. Apparently Rachel wanted out right away. She was always the type to be out in front taking the lead. Even as a baby, she was the first to crawl, the first to walk. The first to climb out of her crib. Nothing could keep Rachel, or as she likes to be called 'Rach.' She enjoyed life as a little girl, playing around teasing her twin sister. She loved both her mother and father. She got along really well with both of them, but somehow felt more comfortable with her father. She loved listening to the legends of her ancestors and often begged her father to tell her more and more. When her younger brother Jacob was born, Rachel didn't know how to react. She didn't want to loose the attention of her parents but she also couldn't help but adore her little brother. He simply adorable! She didn't mind having him around. Although she was told once or twice that she was a little bit too rough with him sometimes. Rachel on the other hand seemed to be better with babies. Rachel didn't mind at all though. As her brother got a little bit older he became a lot more fun. She grew to really love her brother when he turned two. When their mother passed away it hit Rachel a lot harder than she thought possible. She hadn't really realized how much her mother meant to her until she lost her. It broke her heart. She changed a lot when she lost her. Locking herself away for a bit she didn't talk to as many people, she didn't have the same happy energy that she naturally had. She often make sure to help her father out with everything. She'd clean everything and cook as often as possible (once she finally learned how to cook a bit better). She didn't mind taking care of everything, and everyone... She just wasn't good at focusing on herself and making sure she was okay. Attending highschool on the reservation, Rachel became a very talented student. It wasn't really because she was extremely smart, she was just always really good at getting everything done right away. She found a love in writing. It was her outlet from the world, her outlet from dealing with everything. Life slowly started to get better for her though. She was close to her sister, but still distant and on her own. The family never really had a lot, but Rachel never minded she managed to get a really good scholarship to Washington State. Partly because of her heritage, but she really did have good grades. She didn't do extremely well on the SAT or the ACT but she managed well enough. She also was a pretty good soccer playing. Promising to play for Washington State she was able to get a nearly full ride. It was strange watching her sister get married so young, but Rachel supported her. She was sort of jealous that she had found someone while for Rachel, she could never hold a relationship past a few months. She felt a bit lost when her sister moved to Hawaii and she went to University, but they always had such different lives. Deciding join a sorority instead of living in the freshman dorms, Rachel couldn't decide between two different houses... Alpha Omicron Pi and Kappa Kappa Gamma. Getting a bid from both houses Rachel decided to join Kappa Kappa Gamma, she found the girls to be a little bit more low key. She liked that better. It was weird to think that she was in a sorority while her twin was off living in Hawaii and her father was getting sick with her younger brother taking care of him. Rachel felt guilty about it, but her father told her not to worry about coming home. Staying at school was more important for her. She was enjoying her classes, and her life. Rachel got lost in playing soccer, being involved in her sorority and managing both her major, English and her minor, Accounting. Rachel didn't really want to do accounting but she knew it'd be a good idea. She loved her classes though, she loved the social aspect of school. She meet her first real boyfriend during an exchange with Pike. He was a really good looking guy, he was good for her. Kevin and Rachel dated for about two years. She got sick of dealing with him getting drunk so she finally broke up with him. It was hard for her, she wanted to fall in love and find whoever it was she was supposed to marry... But well it wasn't working yet. She quit soccer during her third year for the pure fact that she really needed to focus on classes. Due to quitting soccer she had to take out a loan and get a job. Working for the local bar, Rachel quickly became a pretty good bar tender. The wild girl she was before her mother died started to come back out. The same amount of energy came back and she felt more alive. She didn't want to tell her father or brother what she was doing and basically lost touch with everyone but her sister. As soon as she finished her third year Rachael only had one semester left to finish everything, she'd taken all of her summers to take classes to try and finish earlier. She was only 2 classes away. Instead of taking her classes during the summer for the first time Rachel decided to go home and visit her father and brother. She'd spent so much time away she wasn't even sure what it would be like to be back into the world she was from. Rachel loved the world she was from, she'd just gotten used to being a sorority girl while at school. She was used to being seen as just Rachel not a Black. It didn't mean anything at school, but at home in La Push it meant a lot. She nearly didn't go home when her ex tried to talk her into going somewhere with him, but she decided it was time for her to visit her family, her friends from back home. She really didn't want to forget where she came from and who she really was. |

Height: 5'3 Hair/Eye color: Black // brown More:Rachel is on the short side standing at about 5'3. She's in good shape due to always working out and being oddly athletic. Rachel has long black hair. She tried light hair for two weeks during her second year of college but hated it so much she changed it back to her natural color. Rachel is very fit and works hard to stay that way. She's got a sweet smile and is often seen smiling. |
